Existing Conditions

The pool pump currently operates continuously to maintain <a pressure difference across the diatomaceous earth filter> a suitable level of water recirculation and filtration. <Valves have been throttled back to reduce the flow. The pump has to work harder than necessary to overcome the pressure drop through the valves.>

Retrofit Conditions

We recommend machining the pool pump impeller to reduce the diameter for the required water flow. All valves should be opened to minimize unnecessary flow restriction.
