Web Software Developer

As a software developer at Managing Energy Inc. you will be involved in the design and implementation of innovative web 2.0 software which enables organizations to effectively monitor and reduce utility consumption, costs, and carbon footprint. You will work closely with other developers, engineers, product managers, and users to develop new product offerings and improve existing ones.
If you believe that we have some serious environmental problems to solve, this is an opportunity to do something about it. Our online tools are highly developed, using the latest software technologies. We need someone who is experienced and up-to-date in a range of current technologies.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Working collaboratively with other developers
• Interacting with product designers and marketing staff
• Successfully communicating conceptual ideas and design rationale
• Documenting software design and implementation
USER EXPERIENCE TASKS
• Consideration of various user roles in designing user interfaces
• Integration of internal and external user stories into a cohesive user experience
• Development of RIA and browser plug-ins
• Communicating with users
PLATFORM DEVELOPMENT
• Authoring efficient, structured, and well-documented software
• Maintaining and improving the Managing Energy API
• Developing XML web services to enable integration with other systems
• Creating unit tests to verify and validate software functions
• Discovering and addressing security vulnerabilities within software and architecture
DATABASE DEVELOPMENT
• Extending existing database design to enable new product features
• Managing database User/Role permissions
• Investigating ways to improve performance and architecture
REQUIREMENTS
• 5+ years experience developing software
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skill
• Expert C#/Microsoft. NET developer with 3+ years experience
• 2+ years developing ASP.NET web applications
• Substantial experience using Microsoft SQL Server including the design of tables, views, stored procedures and triggers
• Strong understanding of XML including a working knowledge of XML Schemas and XSL Transformations
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Ability to develop new approaches to complex design problems
• Ability to write organized well structured code
• Familiarity with ASP.NET AJAX, WCF Services and Silverlight 2.0
